Most ice hotels melt in spring. This one doesn't. The Aurora Ice Museum is kept below freezing all year, built from ice and snow harvested nearby and filled with carved sculpture, chandeliers and an ice bar where drinks come in glasses made of ice.
Guests sleep in the resort's lodge rooms and cabins, then walk out to the rock-lined hot springs pool. From late summer into spring, clear nights bring a real chance of the northern lights over the valley.
