The buildings started life as national pavilions at Expo 67. They now stand on Île Notre-Dame in the St. Lawrence, a short trip from downtown Montreal, and hold one of the country's best-known casinos.
Most visitors come for the architecture and the restaurants as much as the gaming floor. The island itself has parkland, a rowing basin and the river on every side.

Fallsview Casino Resort
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada
Height is the point here. The hotel tower rises above the Horseshoe Falls, and rooms on the right side look straight down into the mist.
Below the tower there is a spa, a theatre that books touring acts, a row of shops and a range of restaurants. The casino sits within the same complex, one feature among several.

River Rock sits on the Fraser River with a marina at its door. Vancouver's airport is close, and the Canada Line puts downtown within easy reach by train.
Suites and hotel rooms share the property with a show theatre, a pool and several places to eat. The casino is part of the building rather than the whole of it.

North of Toronto, on the lands of the Chippewas of Rama First Nation, this resort sits near the shore of Lake Couchiching. The drive in is lake country, not city.
A hotel tower anchors the property. There is a spa, an entertainment centre for concerts and several restaurants, with the casino alongside them.
